Who we are...

Sveta Eufemija Society is a community of people who are dedicated to keeping the Croatian cultural heritage alive. This group was founded by Slavko Profaca in 2004, and has been run by Vesna Dužić, Walter Blasich, and Diana Dunatov since 2005 to continue the effort of honoring our Croatian community.
The heart of our society is Sveta Eufemija Church located in the town of Sutomišćica on the island Otok Ugljan along the Adriatic Coast. Sveta Eufemija was originally built in 1679, and is still the center of our community’s cultural heritage, especially for the people of Sutomišćica and Poljana, the church’s two towns that make up its parish.
Currently, this community has grown throughout the world as the descendants from this parish are found living all over the United States and in many other countries. Every year, our community gathers together as friends and family with a Dinner-Dance to honor our cultural roots and to show support of our church, Sveta Eufemija. This event helps reunite old friends, strengthens the bonds of family, and educates the next generation of young Croatians of their ancestral heritage. All proceeds go to Sveta
